1978 FORD FAIRLANE 500 SPORTMAN ZH

LMCT 7819
SN:3888

ONE OWNER SINCE 1982 – V8, AUTO & A/C

The Second Generation Fairlane, Introduced in 1972 with the ‘ZF’ was Initially Criticized for being Too Similar in Design to the Basic Falcon, with the Ford Addressing the Styling Concerns in 1976 with the Introduction of the ‘ZH’. With Extended Front and Rear Bodywork, as well as More Luxurious Fittings, the ‘ZH’ Differentiated itself from the XC Falcon, with Big and Bold American Inspired Styling.

Ford Introduced a Run of 750, Limited Edition ‘Fairlane Sportsmans’ with Volante Alloy Wheels, Chrome Mirrors, Tape Stripes, C Pillar Badging, Upright Bonnet Emblem and Colour-Keyed Vinyl Roofs.

This Sportsman was Cherished by it’s Most Recent Owner, who Bought the Fairlane in April 1982. An Impressive History File Shows the Care and Attention to Detail by which the Ford was Maintained, with Invoices From the Early 90’s Forward, Most with Hand Written Instructions for the Service Provider.

Invoices of Note Include: Repaint & New Vinyl Roof in 1994, LPG Conversion in 1994, a Change Over Transmission Fitted in 2002, a Change Over Rebuilt 302ci Cleveland Fitted 2003 at 310,310km, Rust Repairs Completed in 2004, Heads Reconditioned in 2014, Air Conditioning Compressor Replaced in 2016, Radiator and Water Pump Work in 2016 and Tyres Fitted in 2017.

In Need of Another Caring Owner to Bring the Sportsman Back to it’s Former Glory this Fairlane will Require Time and Effort, but Provides a Sound Entry to the Australian Muscle Car Market.

Priced Unregistered, Without a Victorian Roadworthy Certificate.
