TRIUMPH’S TRIUMPHANT TR5
Triumph’s TR5 had a Very Short Production life of only 13 months between August 1967 and September 1968, resulting in a Total Production of Only 2947 units, powered by a 2.5 litre Straight Six Cylinder Engine fitted with Lucas Mechanical Fuel Injection, producing 150 BHP. A Detuned, Lower Emission version fitted with Zenith/Stromberg carburettors producing 111BHP was Marketed Solely in the US as the TR250.
Subject of a Comprehensive 8 Month Restoration by ‘The Healey Factory’ in the mid 90’s, and Meticulously Cared for since, this TR5 Won many accolades in National Triumph Club Concours events in both 1997 and 1998 with Outright, Peoples Choice and Best TR5/TR6 awards, before leaving the show circuit.
The Immaculate Rich Red bodywork is Highlighted by the Sparkling 16” Chrome Wire Wheels and Brilliant Chrome Body Accents, with Removeable White Sidewall trims for a more Period Look. The Interior has been Beautifully Trimmed in Cream Connolly Leather, Complemented by Red Piping and Matching Red Carpets. The Spotless Under Bonnet Presentation is Everything you would Expect in a Concours Presentation Car.
The TR5 Performs well with its Smooth 2.5 litre Straight Six and Four Speed Gearbox with Overdrive Providing Crisp Period Performance, the Precise Rack and Pinion Steering gives Excellent Feedback, with the Front Disc Brakes Provide Reassuring Braking and the Independent Rear Suspension Assuring Firm Roadholding and Comfort.
The TR5 comes with a Comprehensive Historical Receipt File Detailing Expenditure on Maintenance and Service Repairs over Many Years.
