The Austin Healey Sprite created a huge stir when introduced in 1958 as a low cost, fun sports car. By 1964 the Sprite had evolved into a much more modern car, with wind up windows, quarter vents, external door handles and a curved glass windscreen, while mechanically, the 1098cc motor was stronger than previous, with better casting and 2” main bearings, the rear suspension also benefited from semi-elliptic leaf springs.

This Sprite has had the one enthusiast owner for the past 50 years, having been acquired in December 1974 with the transfer of ownership document part of the extensive history file.

Presenting well in classic red, this de-bumpered MkIIIA Sprite is complimented by its Hotwire alloy wheels and the contrasting black interior features newer supportive sports style seats and a Moto-Lita leather bound sports steering wheel. The dash features upgraded Stack gauges including a GPS speedometer and Bluetooth audio with USB input. A Smiths heater will keep you warm in the cooler months and weather protection is in the form of a removable black vinyl soft-top, giving a clean look.

The engine was re-built including machining work in 2017 by Crankshaft Rebuilers of Blackburn Vic and mechanical upgrades include the addition of a thermatic fan and spin-on oil filter conversion and Narva driving lights, providing additional visibility at night.
